A Shared Path

To support local families facing childhood cancer by providing the same love and resources Klair first envisioned in memory of sweet Erin.

Erin's Wings

In 1983, a mother’s love transformed grief into a beacon of hope for Southwest Florida. Klair, Erin’s mom, founded Candlelighters during her daughter’s brave battle, ensuring no family would ever face a cancer diagnosis alone. Following decades of tireless service, Klair has retired, leaving behind a profound legacy of compassion. Today, as the new Executive Director, I am honored to share this story and carry the torch forward. Our mission remains unchanged: To provide support, education and assistance to families of children with cancer or blood disorders and the professionals who care for them. We are dedicated to honoring Erin’s memory by sustaining the lifeline Klair built, standing hand-in-hand with families as they navigate their darkest hours toward a brighter, more hopeful future.
